Sea Bass • Ling
Sea Bass fishing this past week ranged from good to very good depending on the day.
The average day has seen anglers with 6 to 10 keepers per man and high hooks from a dozen to 15, and a couple of days we had
average catches of 8 to 12 a man with high hooks in the twenties or limits. We continue to catch a significant amount of Sea
Bass most every day, the only thing that varies is the keeper percentage from one day to the next. There has been no lack
of action on the Sea Bass trips! Some Sea Bass catches of note from the past several days were:
Jim Henderson with 7 keeper Sea Bass, 4 Ling and a 5lb. Cod, Alan Peduto and Armond
Thomas from Jersey City combined for 22 Sea Bass and over a 15 Ling, Bill Taylor had 7 Sea Bass and 4 Ling and Robert Trumpy
had 11 Sea Bass and a Ling as well. We will continue to target primarily Sea Bass every day of the week except on our Wednesday
Deep Water Ling Specials. Speaking of Ling, after an excellent day of Ling fishing this past Wednesday with anglers catching
from 15 to 20 a man and high hooks in the thirties, the Paramount sailed on a special July 2nd Ling marathon and
absolutely CRUSHED the Ling. Anglers had from 25 to 40 Ling per man with high hooks in the 50’s and 60’s!
Kenny Bray from Perth Amboy, NJ won the pool with a nice 4+ pound Ling and landed
45 Ling total, Ray Stuckey from Montclair, NJ had 51 Ling, Vince Mazzarella from Pennsylvania and 40 Ling, Dave Larsen from
Easton, PA had 58 Ling and Mathew Landon from Princeton, NJ had a whopping 62 Ling for the day.
The Paramount is sailing every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for Sea Bass
from 6:30am to 3:30pm
Our
Monday & Friday Marathons are also targeting Sea Bass. Trips sail every Monday & Friday from 6:30am to 5:00 pm. Our Marathons offer a longer day, enabling the captain to hit
more or further spots, whatever is needed.
